Roadtrip 2016 Fall: Vancouver - Yakima - Bend - John Day River - Port Orford - Florence - Seaside - Vancouver

Day 53 - Seaside to Vancouver

Yet another rainbow to send us on our way home. This trip has certainly set a record for rainbow spotting.

Sure, send us rainbows, then the black helicopter shows up to make sure we are really leaving the state.

Then they really try to scare us with a violent storm on the Astoria Harbour.

Next the staypuffed marshmallow man bids an eerie farewell as we make the turn to Washington.

Astoria, and Oregon, are now truly in our mirror.

The Rules and Regulations in North Bend. Presided over by The Judge Tree. Never mess around with The Judge Tree. Never mind the The Judge Tree is just a telephone pole. With creosote.

Just past The Judge Tree, North Bend comes over the horizon.

It's all under one amazing roof.

The long haul up the Olympic Peninsula ends at our favourite coffee stop, buried in the industrial part of Port Townsend, Sunrise Coffee. That's it, with the cheery yellow paint.

It looks much cheerier inside.

Then, the ferry lineup to Whidbey Island.

If we thought leaving Astoria was a little eerie - returning to Vancouver may be down right scary.

The final backup. We're home again.
